THE Warriors will look to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals when they head to Oregon to face the Trailblazers.
We’re going back to the same market that failed us last time, only now we’re getting some terrific value as a result of Kevon Looney’s production in Game 2.
Looney’s high-energy and active efforts on the offensive glass saw him play a playoff-high 29 minutes last time out as he finished with 14 points and 7 rebounds; he also finished a perfect 6-for-6 from the field.
Giving that level of production on the road in the payoffs is another question entirely and he’ll be hard pressed to mirror his Game 2 efforts at the Moda Center.
In fact, Looney’s numbers on the road in the playoffs have dipped drastically. He’s averaging just 2.2 rebounds per game in his six road playoff games this year, and has failed to clear the 5.5 rebound total in any of those outings.
The Blazers were eaten alive on the glass in Game 2 and that will certainly be stressed to their players ahead of a must-win Game 3 on their hardwood. The Warriors owned a 56-39 advantage in the rebounding category last time out – that will certainly not happen again; at least, not to that extent.
Look for Looney’s numbers to drop here and we’re going to take full advantage of this incredible price by maximising our investment on a strong market edge.
